Messiah in the Spring Feasts of Israel

This topic can be presented in one or a series of messages that explain how the Messiah is related to the following Appointed Times of the Hebrew calendar:

  • Pesach (Passover), celebrating the Exodus from Egypt, pointing to the sacrificial death of Messiah

  • Matzah (Unleaved Bread), a continued commemoration of the Exodus, pointing to the burial of Messiah

  • Bikkurim (First Fruits), the ancient celebration of the first barley harvest, pointing to the resurrection

  • Shavuot (Weeks, or Pentecost), the ancient celebration of the first major harvest, the giving of the Law and inauguration of the Mosaic covenant, pointing to the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, and the inauguration of the New Covenant
